OUR MISSION

The mission of the Black Employees Association is to strengthen professional development and advancement opportunities for black employees within the City and County of San Francisco, and to promote an equitable workplace which is conducive to black employees’ well-being.

BEASF OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the association are to:

1. Provide networking and social opportunities to create a sense of community among black employees

2. Support the retention and recruitment of black employees in order to ensure a more diverse and inclusive work culture.

3. Serve as an advocate for black employees in all matters related to discrimination

4. Collaborate with senior leadership and community-based organizations to advance policies that promote an equitable and inclusive workplace for black employees

5. Offer recommendations regarding the City and County of San Francisco’s training and hiring process to ensure inclusivity   

6. Improve and increase professional development and advancement opportunities for black employees

7. Represent the interest and concerns of black employees

8. Raise awareness to barriers preventing the retention, recruitment, and development of black employees

9. Develop programs to provide learning and development opportunities for black employees
